Costs & Application Procedure

Costs

Trainees are responsible for:

  • MAST International program fee
  • Medical & Accident Insurance
  • Host country program fee and visa fee, if applicable
  • Cancellation fee, if applicable
  • All international and domestic travel costs to and from the training location
  • Personal expenses

Application Procedure

  1. If you meet the MAST Experience Abroad qualifications, contact MAST International for an application packet.

  2. Think about your priorities for the experience. Determine whether the type of placement or the country in which you want to be placed is more important. Reflect on your motivation for participating in the program. The most successful trainees have a keen desire to learn as well as being open and adaptable to new situations.

  3. Return your completed application at least 4 months prior to departure date.

Next Steps

  1. If approved, your application will be forwarded to the Country Partner to begin the search for a placement and an in-person or telephone interview will be scheduled.

  2. Country Partners generally accept an application within a month, although actual placement details may take two to three months to coordinate.

  3. Once placed, participants are invited to a pre-departure orientation. This session covers visas and work permits, travel, insurance, packing, and adjusting to a new culture.
