Practical Training Overseas through MAST Experience Abroad

The MAST Experience Abroad program provides qualified individuals the opportunity to travel abroad to gain practical hands-on experience in agriculture, horticulture, agri-business, forestry or related areas.  This cross-cultural experience living and working in another country helps young people develop a global perspective and a broader understanding of the world.

Qualifications

  • Age 18 to 30 (varies by country)
  • Single
  • Good health
  • High School education required; post-secondary experience preferred
    • The MAST Experience Abroad (MEA) program does not require student status
    • Some countries require proof of current student status – see individual country information
  • Minimum six months practical or work experience related to training placement
  • Knowledge of the host country’s language is preferred; required in some countries
